Knowledge Base (RAG) — Feed the AI Your Documents

Upload PDFs, paste text, drop in a website URL, or share a Google Doc/Sheet. The AI retrieves relevant chunks per turn.

Use Knowledge Base when you have more facts than fit comfortably in a system prompt: product catalogs, policies, FAQs, training manuals, real estate listings, menu items, etc.

Supported sources

  • PDF upload
  • Paste raw text directly
  • Website URL (we crawl and parse the page)
  • Google Docs URL (share-link with 'Anyone with the link' set to Viewer)
  • Google Sheets URL (same sharing requirement — useful for rate cards, inventory, FAQs in tabular form)

How retrieval works

When a caller asks a question, Voxinity embeds the question, searches your sources for the top 3 most relevant chunks, and injects them into the prompt for that turn only. Result: the AI knows your business deeply without paying for huge prompts.

Adding a source

  1. Sub-Account → Knowledge Base → New Source.
  2. Pick the source type (PDF, Text, URL, Google Docs, Google Sheets).
  3. For Google Docs/Sheets: make sure the document is shared with 'Anyone with the link can view' before pasting the URL.
  4. Give it a clear title — the AI sees titles when picking which source to consult.

Per-session cost

$0.005 per session that triggers KB retrieval. A 5-minute call that uses KB twice still bills as one session. Cap retrievals per call in Agent → Tools → Knowledge Base.

Garbage in, garbage out
Clean your sources. Scanned PDFs without OCR retrieve poorly. Strip nav menus and footers before uploading website pages. Google Sheets retrieves best when each row is one concept (one product, one FAQ, one policy).
