SMS is a first-class channel in Voxinity. Your agent can send follow-up texts after calls, take over inbound SMS, and continue threads days later — all from the same memory.
Post-call follow-up SMS
- Agent → Tools → enable send_sms_followup.
- Set the trigger: outcome = 'voicemail', 'no_answer', or 'qualified'.
- Set the template — the AI will adapt it per contact ('Hi {first_name}, just tried you — wanted to send the listing we discussed: {link}').
Inbound SMS
Any SMS to your Voxinity number that isn't a reply to an existing thread routes to the agent assigned to that number. The agent reads the message, pulls Interaction Memory, and replies on its own.
Switch-to-SMS during chat
If a visitor on the chat widget shares their phone number, the AI can offer to continue by text — enable switch_to_sms on the agent. The thread continues in the same contact record, no context lost.
10DLC compliance (US)
Outbound SMS from US numbers requires 10DLC registration. Voxinity walks you through the form in Settings → Telephony → SMS Compliance. Approval is 1–3 business days.
